Williams Elementary, Folsom Elementary, and Farmington Middle School Recognized as Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase Schools

The Farmington School District is proud to announce that it has been named a Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase District for 2024–2025. In addition, Williams Elementary, Folsom Elementary, and Farmington Middle School have each been honored as Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase Schools—a prestigious distinction that highlights campuses that go above and beyond to create emotionally safe and relationally connected learning environments.

Capturing Kids’ Hearts, a program developed by the Flippen Group, is a nationally acclaimed initiative focused on building strong, trust-based relationships between educators and students to drive academic and behavioral success. Schools and districts that receive the National Showcase designation are selected through a rigorous evaluation process that includes staff feedback, student and parent surveys, and campus observations.

“We are honored to be recognized as a Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase District,” said Jon Laffoon, Superintendent of Farmington Public Schools. “This recognition reflects the intentional work of our staff to create welcoming environments where every student feels seen, heard, and valued. We believe relationships are at the core of learning, and this award affirms our commitment to that belief.”

The Showcase designations for Williams Elementary, Folsom Elementary, and Farmington Middle School underscore the exceptional leadership and culture present at these campuses. From morning greetings and social contracts to team-building and leadership opportunities, staff at each school have implemented Capturing Kids’ Hearts strategies with fidelity and heart.

The Farmington School District prioritizes safety, service, relationships, integrity, character development, and academic excellence. “This honor is a testament to the staff and parents who make up our school family,” added Laffoon. “It celebrates their daily efforts to put students first and foster a culture built on our school values and trust.”

The district plans to build on this momentum by continuing the Capturing Kids’ Hearts framework in the 2025-26 school year.
